I am now launching online courses and talks. This is completely new to me, and I will not pretend that I do not prefer doing this sort of thing in person. But I have tried it several times now and have been very pleasantly surprised.
It works really well and is enjoyable. Being able to reach people so easily, and for them to reach me, is wonderful. At the time of writing, there are two talks and one course available to book. I have chosen Microsoft Teams because it is free for participants and integrates well with Office, making it easy to share documents and show them during lessons and talks.
To take part, you need an internet connection and a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet, or a computer. You then need to download Microsoft Teams. When you place an order, you will receive a message with a link to a group, where you will be added to your chosen lesson or talk. You can choose to join by video (courses only), by audio, or simply sit back and watch and listen.
The talks available at the time of writing are The History of Bushcraft and Emergency Preparedness through Outdoor Life. There is also an online tracking course, teaching the theoretical foundations to help you start practising.
You can find the courses here.
