Description
A one-day course. We meet in the morning and begin by gathering around the fire.
We briefly explore the history and significance of fire. We then cover building a fireplace, choosing a site, selecting firewood and other fuel, different types of fire, extinguishing a fire, and fire-lighting methods including traditional fire steels, ferrocerium rods, matches and other techniques.
There will be a short lunch break, with simple refreshments served in the afternoon.
